List of useful mail-order suppliers

Post by rsilk »

Electronics
  • Mouser - lots of everything
  • Digi-key - like Mouser, but often worse. Ships from Canada, though.
  • Newark - similar to digi-key. Tends to be cheaper, but you have to buy in larger lots.
  • BG Micro - surplus
  • Electronic Goldmine - surplus. Cheap copper-clad boards.
  • Sparkfun - hobby stuff. Lots of useful breakout boards.
Materials and Tools
  • Precise Bits - Drill bits and isolation routing supplies
  • Fastenal - Fasteners, materials, mechanicals
  • SDP/SI - Drive components: gears, belts, pulleys, etc.
  • VXB - Bearings
  • ENCO - Rods, bearings, tools.
  • Online Metals - Metals and plastics, cut to size
