Database rollback?

Post by rsilk »

Looks like we've lost the last several days of forum posts.

I don't think so. I've only been deleting spam so far. Haven't noticed anything missing.

I posted the RFC for the articles of incorporation. Tim posted the bylaws notes. Kurt posted some pics of his aquarium setup. Somebody offered to buy Kaldonis' computer stuff. I think there were a couple others as well.

It appears that some wiki edits have been lost as well. At least one change I made has been rolled back.

Yup jut checked my posts. My pichers that I posted at 12:30 pm yesterday are there but my post from last night about the bylaws is missing. Also is the thread about the letter of incorporation missing? I responded to that last night.

If it was both the wiki and the forum then it makes the most sense that the web-host probably had to roll back for whatever reason. Oh well, at least it was only a day or so.

The site was moved to a new faster serve. People may have been accessing the old server due to the new DNS IP having to propagate across ISPs. - from Adam

So those posts/updates are lost or saved?

They're on a different server. So probably recoverable, but not by us.

In other news, I seem to be randomly getting one server or the other depending on the time of day and where I am. The servers aren't being load balanced or anything crazy, are they? Several people are still seeing (and posting to) the other site. (I'm not even sure which one is the "new" one anymore).

Can we get a forum announcement or something on the server that's being phased out (if that's what is happening) so people can stop posting there until everything stabilizes?
