Wanted: Arduino Expert

Discussions on anything related to the evolving idea of Saskatoon's first "makerspace". What is a makerspace to you? What should it be called? What's the charter?

Wanted: Arduino Expert

Post by Kaldonis »

Received this email from someone looking to have some arduino work done... it sounds like a big project but it may be worthwhile for someone? Post here if you're interested and I can connect you with Ellen directly. I've let her know that this isn't something that we do as an organization but that one of our members might be interested.

Hi,

I'm a media artist and am looking for someone who is an expert in arduinos. Does anyone at sktechworks have a strong knowledge and experience with this controller?

The project has several elements and a few complications: it involves capturing data of human rhythms (footsteps, pulse, breath) and possibly GPS, on the arduino, then transmitting the data to a Smart Phone (android) via USB or Bluetooth. The arduino will be worn as a mobile device by the participant as he/she moves through urban space.

So, I'm looking for someone who knows the arduino well-enough to assemble the unit with the sensors and to access the correct libraries for code.

The goal is to transmit the data from the arduino to the android; my collaborator in Halifax is having an app developed for a Smart Phone.

I do already have some connections here in Saskatoon, but am looking for more expertise.

Hello,
I contacted TechWorks a few months ago about an arduino project I'm working on. The project is progressing well. Now I'm looking for someone who can program data into software such as Max/MSP. Is any member familiar with Max/MSP?
I forget when the Hackers Space group meets. Could you let me know the schedule?
Thank you in advance.
Ellen
Max/MSP anyone?
