Project - CNC control panel

Al linked to a really cool site today in irc: http://www.cnccookbook.com/MTCNCPanels.htm it has a gallery of several well done CNC control panels. I'd like to get the bal rolling on designing one. I brought in a 17" LCD touchscreen a litle while ago that I'd like to incorporate. Any suggestions for what else we need? most of them have the E-stop on the panel, but ours is already mounted on the CNC table, along with the USB port.
