Website update

Post by DigitalOSH »

I was messing around with squarespace the other day and came up with a template for the site that I think looks a lot better than what we have. Thoughts?

I like the look and I like what you did with the photos.

Something about the colors for the logo makes it hard to read. I think the background is a little too dark.

I definitely like that things don't move like crazy on mouse over. Mouse overs are a no-no (IMHO) with all the touch devices these days.

Try the colors now.

In regards to the hover, I can fix that but it would take a bit of effort. I'll note it down for a finished product

I like it a lot more than what we have at sktechworks.ca.

Nice work! I like it!

I think Odemia is just talking about the moving pictures on mouse-over that happens on the current sktechworks.ca site, not the slight color change (highlighting) on mouse-over that you have. I also don't like the moving mouse-overs on the existing page but the highlighting on your page is good. I also like that you've made the main page a blog style page since I imagine it will be used for news and other announcements, not just a landing page to other links.

yeah, logo is easier to read now.

And yeah, comment about mouse overs was directed at the current page. The fact that the buttons don't change color on a touch device is inconsequential.

I don't think anybody would complain if you just set sktechworks.ca up to redirect to the squarespace site.

so, squarespace costs $15/month after the two week trial, think we could just rip-off the design (css and html) and host it for free? or are we really in love with the CMS backend that it makes it worth it?
