Nomination - Board of Directors

Hello fellow Hackers/Makers!

As part of bieng a non-profit organisation we are required to have a board of directors. As part of our articles of incorporation we have specified that we will have a number of board members 3 or more, but no more than 7. We will be looking for 7 members to become our initial board of directors.
So, I'd like to open up nominations for our Board of Directors. These individuals will be required to attend all general, board,and annual meetings and are expected to contribute their time and personal resources beyond what is required for membership. Please see our bylaws page on the wiki for additional information regarding the board.
Position internal to the board (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary) will be appointed within the Board of Directors.

Nominated members will be balloted for at the next general meeting. Also, you may nominate yourself, or another member. Members who are nominated, but do not wish to participate will not be balloted on.

From the Wiki:

The board will consist of no fewer than 3 and no greater than 7 directors.

Once elected, the board will assume the following positions, as they see fit. The positions of President, Treasurer and Secretary must be filled before directors can be appointed vice president or directors at large:

* President
* Vice president (if greater than 3 directors)
* Treasurer
* Secretary
* Directors at large

Responsibilities of the board likely include (but aren't limited to) the following. These items don't necessarily correspond with individual positions:

* Finance - Handling all the money, collecting dues, keeping the books etc.
* Operations - Managing the shop, the tools, the building etc.
* External affairs - Dealing with the outside world. Sponsorships, legal matters etc.
* Keeping and posting minutes at all meetings
* Calling meetings of members (with appropriate notice)

Also, it is important to note that we will be taking out directors and officers insurance for the entire board. This is to protect the board from liability relating to the activities of the corporation.

I nominate my self (Adam Florizone). I'm already contributing my time and personal resources and would like to make it official. Also I want to assume leadership and answer question about the website since I represent a large part of it.
