Membership Signups

Discussions on anything related to the evolving idea of Saskatoon's first "makerspace". What is a makerspace to you? What should it be called? What's the charter?

Sorry — your last action could not be completed

If you were making a purchase or sending money, we recommend that you check both your PayPal account and your email for a transaction confirmation after 30 minutes.

If you came to this page from another website, please return to that site (don't use your browser's Back button) and restart your activity.

If you came from PayPal's website, click the PayPal logo in the upper-left corner to return to our home page and restart your activity. You might have to log in again.
I get that every time. I've made an one-time payment for now, I guess it only happens on the subscription link.

The time you tried it at:
Do you have a credit card on you paypal account: [y/n]

The last one is a requirement of the subscriptions on Paypal. You can also PM me if you don't want to share that info on the form.

Try it now. I added invoices and the login panel. http://membership.sktechworks.ca/

Thanks back on track now, sorta, PayPal is giving me shit. Wants to verify my address but can't use a cell phone number for that so I have to find a scanner.

... Did I mention I hate PayPal ... Sorry just venting. We can leave the discussion on other payment options for later.

EDIT: Got things sorted out with paypal and went through checkout. I am unclear what my actual status is though. Says my account will be renewed in 27 days which makes me think I am a member now, but in 'Invoices' section says that payment is uncleared. Does paypal just not clear payment except 9-5 on work days? Or is there still something wrong?

Someone posted on reddit that the member signup page was broken about 20 minutes ago. Perhaps its been fixed and they tried it awhile ago?

He was an idiot. "Your membership signup page is broken. Ironically, it says you need a membership in order to access it."... Doesn't realize you need to register first.

To be honest, I found that quite confusing at first too. 'Become a member' takes you to a login page, then you need to realize that there's a 'register' button hidden in there somewhere.

It might be more clear if 'become a member' took you right to the registration page, and there was an additional link for 'members area' or something.

I'm not fallowing. The front page says "The Content you are trying to see is available only for members of our site. If you already have a Membership you need to log in to see it. Please follow this link if you want to register: Registration Page "

I cannot see anything that says "Become a member" and the "Registration Page" link page is visible on http://membership.sktechworks.ca/index.php.

I could change all the text on the http://membership.sktechworks.ca/index.php site and make it have steps. For example:
Step 1) Register for a non paying account (required)
Step 2) Activate your account to login
Step 3) Chose your payment method

The "become a member" link is in the bar at the top of the page.
