I am in the middle of building the megadrum project (http://www.megadrum.info)
I have the main board built, but I am struggling with the programming of the ATMEGA324 & PIC18F2550.
Does anyone have experience working with these chips?
Thx
ATMEGA324 troubleshooting & firmware loading
Re: ATMEGA324 troubleshooting & firmware loading
I have some experience working with PIC micro-controllers.
What kind of issue are you having? Are you trying to replicate the device from the link you provided? Can you elaborate on what you are trying to accomplish?
Some basics that might get you started with the PIC18F2550:
1) you will most likely need some sort of programmer (ie PicKit or a third party compatible)
2) the fuse setting on the PIC need to be programmed for the controller to properly operate
3) the datasheets for your micro-controllers are your friends. They may not be intuitive but you can find a lot of useful info in there

Sorry I totally missed this post. I have quite a lot of experience uploading firmware to the ATmega. Are you still having trouble with his? If so, drop me a line at james@coopercs.ca.
