I started off by soldering the chip adapters to the riser board.

Soldered the chip assembly to the board. I didn't remove enough solder when I removed a diode. Can see where it pulled up the tracing a bit.

Replaced a cap

Replaced a diode with a germanium. New one is a bit bigger.

Stock diode configuration seems weird to me

Replaced with germanium

Made a mess of it... (I redid this like 8 times I could not get a clean joint on these, and what is the discoloration on the component side?)

Replaced a cap on the tone pot (and noticed after that I removed solder from another pin accidentally. I fixed that after I took the pic)

Replaced the LED with a brighter clear blue one (stock was a dull red one)

In testing the tone and level pots quit working. I followed the traces and those ugly ones from above were along the line, so cleaned them up with some isopropyl. Now its working, or maybe it was the one pin I accidentally desoldered I need to pay closer attention when testing. (what's the best way to clean flux? Q-tip didn't work very well...)
