Tutorial for directors and officers of non-profit corporations in SK, including how to form one, what bylaws should contain, etc, etc. Looks quite comprehensive!

Who was it that said they would start working on this? I am really busy right now but I do have an interest in law and governance things. Would be willing to help out.

Re: Information on non-profit corporations in Saskatchewan
My fiancee's dad is a lawyer. I could possibly tackle this if no one else has time for it?
Re: Information on non-profit corporations in Saskatchewan
Sorry boot drive started to die Wednesday and didn't get around to properly fixing it till today. I don't really go to forums on my phone.
I have to go through my condo bylaws anyways so I have started to redo them for our. It's probably one of the better places to start for bylaws as they are all about setting up a corporation for the purpose of maintaining common property. Has anyone seen any good bylaws specifically for a hackerspace?
I have helped get a charitable organization going. For that we needed the bylaws to incorporate, it doesn't look like that is the case for a regular non-profit. So is there something else with a higher priority that is not already being done?

Re: Information on non-profit corporations in Saskatchewan
The articles are pretty much done and ready to go, except for a couple things that still need consensus. We still don't have a complete set of bylaws or a well-defined board, but those don't appear to be necessary to get the incorporation process started. They will be necessary for the first general meeting however, as we will have to elect a board and ratify the bylaws at that time.
Next steps:
Next steps:
- Interested parties should give it a read, and post any issues of contention on the talk page.
- We need to find consensus on those issues, perhaps by vote (either on the forums here, or at the next meeting)
- Name search (costs $20)
- If the name search clears, submit articles of incorporation (costs $65)
- Get incorporated (yay!)
- Hold first general meeting
