using router for lasercut projects

Discussions on anything related to the evolving idea of Saskatoon's first "makerspace". What is a makerspace to you? What should it be called? What's the charter?

using router for lasercut projects

Post by OldFatGuy »

an assembly scheme for laser cut items is to use tabs and slots along with bolts to hold it all together. it makes it easy to create right angle corners and speeds assembly. I can't remember offhand what the name of this method is but I came across a modified version that can be cut on a router with a 1/8" bit. It rounds off a lot of the corners in order to allow for the size of the bit. It may come in handy for something so I am passing on an example to you.

This is actually a set of parts for a small CNC router that I am just starting to build for myself but the assembly method could be used for any number of projects

PS - The website looks great. Seems like things are going great up there in Saskatoon.
