Any bitcoiners here?

Discussions on anything related to the evolving idea of Saskatoon's first "makerspace". What is a makerspace to you? What should it be called? What's the charter?

Might want to wait. If the story about the stolen bitcoins is true, I'm assuming the thief will be trying to dump them over the next while. Good luck!

Wow, I'm behind on my tech news. I didn't hear about the stolen bitcoins (until now). I figured something like that would eventually happen, but a half million USD, that's crazy. I did intend to buy some a while back but I couldn't find an easy way to get them.

The price is dropping quite rapidly, might be a good time to get in on it soon.

Got setup using my GPU. Way easier than in the old days, took like 5 minutes to get going.

Cracking along at 260 MHash/s right now.

damn, what kind of GPU are you running? I'm running a single Radeon 5770 and getting about 130 MHash/sec showing in Phoenix, but my bitcoin pool account shows that I'm doing closer to 190 MHash/sec. I'm also gonna make a purchase today, it's trading at about $14/btc

5870 I think? The catalyst control center only told me it was a 5800 series card. I should google how to get the exact model number, or I could just check newegg....

The bitpool isn't updating my stats, but that may be because my efficiency was low? I started off using CPU for like 5 minutes then went to GPU. I've heard they'll ban you for that?

Ooh, 5870 is a great card for bitcoining. which bitpool are you using? Slush's pool? Bitcoinpool.com? They don't care if you use CPU as long as your efficiency stays high (which it wont). 5 minutes of CPU won't kill your eff though.
