iPhone auto tracking features.

Is anyone here proficient with iPhone dev? I'm looking for ways to take the iPhone location data, save it elsewhere (in a file unknown by apple) and place a blank file where the location info is. Is that doable?

I wouldn't call myself proficient at iPhone dev, but I'm pretty sure it's not only possible, but even straight-forward. It would definitely require a jailbreak though, as this file is not accessible from within an app's sandbox.

Yes. Unfortunately the new iOS will probably make such a program obsolete, both in terms of protecting your privacy and messing with Apple.

Next up: messing with the Android and WP7 location tracking database...
