I am a Director of Buildatron Systems and both myself and my partners are heavily involved with Alpha One Labs a hacker space in Brooklyn; we truly understand the culture and ambition of these fantastic places and are looking to service and support spaces like yours! The reason we are contacting your organization is to show you how the Buildatron 2 3D Printer and our new service 3dPrintCloud.com could meet any of your rapid prototyping or 3D printing needs.

Since our launch, we have gained a lot of recognition and acclaim for our machine's functionality and design given it's affordable status. As a result, we going to be featured in a PC Magazine piece very shortly, and we have been growing our community every day at the Build Lab (Http://Lab.Buildatron.com) .

As for the Buildatron 2 quick stats, our Series 2 has a recommended build area of 7x7x4.5in and a max fabrication volume of 8x8x5in. We offer two packages for ownership a fully assembled machines start at $2,500.00 and our partly assembled DIY kits are $1,600.00. We include software with the fully assembled machine, and we have machined couplings, injection molded gears, an internal spool system, and an excellent enclosure.

Our offerings represent the leading edge of technology and the bottom line is that with our software control package and Buildatron 2's hardware we are building a revolution in low cost 3D printers. Hi Kurtis! Thanks for writing me back!

While we do believe in the greater value proposition of our product over our competitors, I did not mean the email to sound like an all out sales pitch. I am the event coordination director of the alpha one labs hackerspace in Brooklyn as well and we are all heavily involved there in developing a 3d printer class that we believe will add value to all hackerspaces and provide fun content for the members there (we are calling it Macguyver Mondays and we are testing it next month), we would love to schedule a visit at some point in the spring or summer, or maybe host a hackerspace collider project.

Our machine is different from a thing-o-matic, primarily, in the software we use and our internal spool system, additionally we are using high quality components such as linear bearings. Also, we have now attached our rep rap architecture to a laser cut and grided space (which our aluminum siding sides connected to, and our hood attaches through using a magnetic attachment system we created).

As opposed to other rep-raps we have the only internal spooling system and enclosure on the market. Additionally we have unique software from netfabb that we license for our fully assembled machines that is specially calibrated for the best quality parts possible, this software also allows for better resolution by our machines through our customized calibrations.

Additionally all of the components of our reprap are of the highest quality, we are using aluminum plated beds for example. These modifications make our rep-rap the best printer in its class on the market with unique and innovative features that no one else can provide.

We also have the Build Lab Ning social network where we are encouraging hackerspaces and makerlabs to create new 3d printer projects for their spaces as well as giving you access to new modification kit upgrades that come out each month.

I would say, please check out our website, and we have more pcmag articles about to come out, and we are trying to attend makerfaires across the US in hopes to gaining attention for our Buildatron technology. I welcome any questions or clarifications. I think what we are doing with our 3d printer technology is next level and this next year gaining early adopters are important to us right now. Hackerspaces have smart inventors that would be directly interacting with our machine, and we think that is really important because they understand product design lifecycle. Your hackerspace is part of the key user community we are building.
