Vacuum former

A number of people seemed interested in this (especially when Stormtrooper armor was mentioned) so here's a start to the project!

The guy from XROBOTS.co.uk has built his own machine that looks way easier than anything else I've seen. Here is a follow-up video with a little more detail:

I did a little searching for quartz heaters and this was the best/cheapest I found:
Patton 1,500-Watt Electric Quartz Tower Heater
It is a 1500W for $45 at Home Depot. 25x10" when laid down (and 14" deep).
Currently kijiji has one shop vac for $15. It is 2.5HP and I'm not sure if that is enough. The Dyson he uses is probably around 5HP. A 6HP Rigid shop vac is $150 at Home Depot (for comparison). I can bring mine to test with and we can determine if 6HP is really needed or not before buying anything.
Anyone want to help with construction?
