A number of people seemed interested in this (especially when Stormtrooper armor was mentioned) so here's a start to the project!

I did a little searching for quartz heaters and this was the best/cheapest I found:
Patton 1,500-Watt Electric Quartz Tower Heater
It is a 1500W for $45 at Home Depot. 25x10" when laid down (and 14" deep).

Currently kijiji has one shop vac for $15. It is 2.5HP and I'm not sure if that is enough. The Dyson he uses is probably around 5HP. A 6HP Rigid shop vac is $150 at Home Depot (for comparison). I can bring mine to test with and we can determine if 6HP is really needed or not before buying anything.

Anyone want to help with construction?

I'd be up for helping. I also own both a rigid shop vac, and a dyson DC25 animal vac (the purple one with the motor in the ball) Let me know if you'd like to use either or both for testing.

I went to buy the quartz heater at Home Depot today and of course they don't have it. Neither does the .ca website. The .com does but of course they won't ship here.
So after a little more searching I found one at Home Hardware. It's 1.4kW instead of 1.5kW but the same price. Might grab one if I am nearby.
