"Saskatoon TechWorks" is a lot of text to incorporate into a logo, unfortunately. How about a slightly different approach, where the logo and type are separable? Like so:

Yeah, that's a good idea. I dig the idea of be able to use just a logo but having the option to use text like that as well.

Same idea as last time, but backwards:

Here's an idea I had that kind of merges the two major themes we've had so far... It's a take on skull and crossbones, but instead it's a gear and wrenches. Try to see past the poor quality of the gear/wrenches (I just pieced it together from what had already been posted in the thread).

not sure what the appropriate balance of detail is, I think the last one is a bit too busy (no offence). I like the wrench idea, but I also don't want us to be confused with a tool store.

On a more serious note I found a few ideas I thought were interesting:

• http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/ ... 60993.jpeg - qrcode says "http://cthackerspace.com/welcome.html". Qrcode is interesting but I think the logo is too complicated and depending on scale the qr could look like snow/noise..
• http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9 ... dNkDYQ&t=1 - Really like the elegence of this one and it includes the mechanical wrench wit the electrical symbol keeping it generally technical.

i prefer the outline of Saskatchewan with the gear halo over the wrench.

Oooh! I really like the Charlotte one. Way better than anything we've come up with thus far.

My friend at Stealth Web Designs is going to let one of her graphic artists loose on our logo. I'm just going to give him the link to this thread so he can see what we are aiming for. If anyone has more (or different) ideas on what it could be please post them now to get his creative juices flowing!
