Free equipment from ENTS (Edmonton Hackerspace)
ENTS received a large donation of used electronics instrumentation and components. Michael Kulpa called me and asked if SKTW might be interested in some of the equipment, and so I'm posting it here. From the pictures it looks like quality older equipment, but may still be useful. You can see pics of...

Re: Project log - CNC upgrade
I don't know if it would simplify your design.. but you can cheat and use ball bearings (like skate bearings) as thrust bearings. I am currently doing this on my mill. (If you think about it, they also server that purpose in roller blades and skate baords). You could put your ball bearings on the ou...

Re: Vote on weekly hack night
It may be nice to have a rotating hack night, eg at ENTS we have hack night every tuesday, as well as all 'days of 7', eg 7th, 17th, 27th. That way if someone has a schedule that means they are always busy tuesday night, they still have a chance of making it out to a 'day of seven' night.

Re: Mouser order
Hey, FYI next time you may want to consider getting a seeeduino (arduino compatible) from seeed studio, they are cheaper ($22.50) and have better features (3.3V or 5V compatible, mini usb connector): http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/seeeduino-v221-atmega-328p-p-669.html?cPath=132_133&zenid=454dc...

Re: Physical space suggestions
I heard through the grape vine that the building beside the 220 is owned by Grant Unrau of Stun Collective (http://www.stuncollective.com/talent/grant.html), and that he may be someone to talk to regarding space. My information is of questionable value, but I thought I would pass it along. I really ...
